As a member of First-Gen Connect, the Graduate School will send you resources and opportunities available to you as a graduate student. You will also be able to voice your own thoughts and ideas for what resources are needed. You can also join the First-Gen Connect Facebook group to stay updated.

One of the best ways to navigate graduate school as a first generation student is by connecting with alumni mentors.
First-Gen Connect's Maroon and Gold Network group allows you to make connects with University of Minnesota graduate alumni, who can offer their insights, expertise, and experience to help you with your questions about grad school, identify important skills needed for future careers, discuss aspects of getting a job, and so much more!
